President of India Droupadi Murmu today reviewed the International Fleet Review (IFR) 2026 held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The prestigious naval event witnessed participation from naval forces of over 70 countries, reflecting global maritime solidarity and cooperation.
Addressing the gathering, the President stated that the International Fleet Review symbolizes unity, trust, and mutual respect among nations committed to maritime traditions. She highlighted that ships bearing different national flags and sailors from diverse countries demonstrated a powerful message of solidarity under the theme “United Through Oceans.”
🌊 India’s Vision for Maritime Security
President Murmu emphasized that India’s approach to international relations, including maritime cooperation, is inspired by the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — the world is one family. She noted that global security, stability, and sustainable development are achievable only through partnerships and shared responsibility.
She reiterated that India believes a strong maritime order must be based on collective responsibility and collaborative action among like-minded partners. The Fleet Review also advances India’s vision of ‘MAHASAGAR’ — Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions.

The President praised the Indian Navy for safeguarding India’s maritime interests and ensuring stability across the broader maritime domain. She noted that Indian naval units deployed in the region serve as reliable deterrents against maritime threats and challenges.
During humanitarian crises and natural disasters, the Indian Navy often emerges as the first responder, delivering swift and compassionate assistance. Beyond defense operations, the Navy plays a key role in strengthening goodwill and fostering trust with navies around the world.
