India created history by winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, defeating New Zealand in a thrilling final held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. After the remarkable victory, Indian men’s cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir described the triumph as the “Plan of 1.4 Billion Indians”.

New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and chose to field first. India faced an early setback, but a brilliant innings from Abhishek Sharma changed the course of the match.
Abhishek Sharma scored an impressive 52 runs from 21 balls, smashing six fours and three sixes. His aggressive batting built a crucial 98-run partnership with captain Suryakumar Yadav.
Later, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant added valuable runs to help India reach 255/5, the highest total ever in a T20 World Cup final.
